A retrofit community hub on Royal Street, Barnsley — bringing together a repair workshop, café, hairdresser, cat hotel and rehoming facilities, veterinary clinic, therapy spaces and a quiet winter garden. Much of the existing building is retained and the interior reworked inside it; the new frame combines steel and engineered timber with bolted connections, so the building can be taken apart and the parts reused at the end of its life.
